It all began in 1975 when Jaivic Electromech Engineering Pvt. Ltd. started manufacturing power factor correction capacitors at Satpur (Nasik). It was privately owned by Dr. D.G. Kamat (a doctorate in electrical and mechanical engineering from the USA), hitherto working as a senior executive with M/S. India Foils Ltd. The company went through numerous trials and tribulations in the initial years of struggle.

As they say, “Success is achieved by one who is ready when the opportunity comes”. Mr. Ashok Kathpal, now the managing director, was once a dedicated employee of Jaivic since its inception and the one to look after the commercial aspects of the company. Throughout the initial journey of Jaivic, he was getting molded to lead Jaivic on the pedestal of success. Mr. Kathpal took this opportunity to run the show for Jaivic when it was the company’s downfall. Because of his close association with Jaivic for many years, Mr. Kathpal used his knowledge and expertise to revive the company. He re-established the company’s rules and regulations.

He implemented some strategies like marketing the product under the ‘Jalvic’ brand all over India. (Earlier, Jaivic Capacitors were marketed by big companies like ‘Bajaj.’ Voltas’, and IGE under their name). He introduced the new quality checks on incoming raw materials, work in process, and outgoing final products. He then implemented new procedures like quality norms, quality assurance, and process manuals. With these intelligent strategic moves, the company’s work trajectory and sales turnaround grew tremendously. The commercial practices and implementation of new machinery also contributed to the success.

Mr. Kathpal could achieve all this only with a tremendous amount of hard work, financial discipline at every level, total dedication towards the product, self-sacrifice, and staying utterly loyal to the customers.

Since our inception in 1975, Jaivic has been designing and manufacturing power factor correction capacitors. We have grown steadily and gradually, expanding our capabilities as a capacitor manufacturer by adding Fan Capacitors, Motor Run Capacitors, and Motor Start Capacitors in 2012. For three decades, we have been successfully manufacturing APFC panels (Thyristotirsed Contactorised).

Jaivic Capacitors is an ISO 9001-2000 company producing high-quality products with a mark of ISI. Our team of engineers brings together broad data, powerful analytics, and deep sector intelligence to offer clients unrivaled products.

One of our achievements was when we were conferred with the ‘NIMA Excellence Award’ in 1995 for the ‘Best Industry’ among 4500 other industries around Nashik. It was given by the hands of S. M. Dutta, Chairman of Hindustan Lever Limited.

Our Quality Systems

We have been perfecting systems by incorporating the latest technology and industry research knowledge. That is why we are able to process more than 15-20 types of capacitors in a day and produce more than 300 different varieties of capacitors in a month. The brand of capacitors is manufactured in two plants:

Plant No.1: Operates in the name of Jaivic Electromech Engg. Pvt. Ltd. and manufactures PFC (Power Factor Control Capacitor) and APFC (Automatic Power Factor Control) Panels.

Plant No. 2: Operates in the Name of Govindsons Flashlight Industries Pvt.Ltd.(www.jaivic.com) and manufactures Fan Capacitor, Motor Run AC Capacitor, and Motor Start Capacitor.

We use imported and indigenous raw materials to produce high-quality capacitors. This production is carried out in a dust-controlled environment to maintain the accuracy of products intact. One of the best systems in our production unit is the ‘Metar’ Swiss-made Automatic Winding Machine and Automatic Spray Equipment. Only a few capacitor manufacturers in India have such a production unit.

Our Testing Systems

We are well-equipped with in-house testing facilities to test the capacitors as per IS 13340/41 and IS 13585:I as per the International Standard of IEC 60831/32. Our testing systems are reliable and provide the utmost accuracy in power factor capacitor manufacturing. Thanks to these latest systems, we can fulfill our customers’ customized requirements. All these reasons have made our business growth chart improve in size and capacity.
